IV Brussels Office

About two thirds of legislation relevant for the competitiveness of Austrian companies originates from EU legislation. The Federation of Austrian Industries has been an active and long-standing supporter of European integration. Hence, the IV founded its permanent Brussels Office as early as 1988, prior to Austria’s EU membership. As IV’s Department for European Affairs, the IV Brussels Office coordinates the involvement of the IV at European level, is in charge of relations with European policymakers and the EU institutions, and is the permanent Austrian representative at the European industry and employers’ association BusinessEurope.

Tasks of the IV Brussels Office

• Agenda setting, coordination and steering of EU priorities for IV
• Monitoring and active representation of interests towards European decision-makers
• Permanent representation of Austrian industry at BusinessEurope
• Individual support for IV member companies in Brussels
